Delivered’s customer experience is a world of change. When the parcel leaves a shipper’s dock, Delivered’s technology takes over. Through our sort centers, we put packages on the most efficient path to their destination through our network of middle and last-mile partners resulting in an incredible experience for the shipper and recipient. As a bonus, Delivered’s parcel orchestration process saves up to 70% on greenhouse as we utilize currently available capacity.  

Delivered started as a side project for the founder, Andrew Hurst. Spending nearly 20 years in the logistics industry, Andrew saw firsthand how the industry has changed along with people's purchasing habits. He saw his current customers facing capacity issues, transit delays, and substantial price increases from a few select incumbent carriers. The real problem was that this not only affected the e-retailers, but it also affected the consumer, the buyer… people like him. As a proven entrepreneur, he set out to fix the problem e-retailers face when connecting their customers with their physical products.  

Delivered is currently in the process of building our product for commercialization. With a successfully proven leadership team, Delivered is poised for high growth over the next two years as we rapidly expand our footprint across the US. With nearly 1M packages ready to move on Delivered, we are excited to start delivering for our customers.

As a member of a dynamic sales team, the Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new opportunities and business development, account implementation, and maintaining and deepening customer relationships. You will be responsible for building customer connections, selling Delivered’s value, managing projects from start to finish and ultimately closing new profitable business. You will provide customer contact to achieve personal and company sales goals in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Description  

  • Develops new business by identifying potential new customers and growing gross profit, conducting background research on potential customers, discussing, and analyzing the customer’s needs, and developing and implementing value-added solutions.

  • Identifies, drives, and closes new business targets consistent with short / medium / long term growth objectives.

  • Develops deep understanding of and shares knowledge of key markets, players within the markets, requirements, trends, and needs as well as Delivered’s potential.

  • Develops and implements account specific strategies and growth plans; provides feedback on resource needs and emerging opportunities; recommends changes in offerings by evaluating results and competitive developments; drives market development activities.

  • Maintains existing business by developing an understanding of the customer’s business through research and customer interaction, analyzing customer needs, and developing and implementing solutions.

  • Leads cross functional teams to accelerate and drive profitable growth through selling to targeted accounts.

  • Regularly engages with customers to ensure customer understanding of Delivered’s services and to maximize customer utilization of Delivered’s services.

  • Fosters outstanding customer relationships by providing regular business reviews, entertaining customers, and developing solutions, exhibiting outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, and learning the customer’s business.

  • Manages strategic relationships, cultivates new alliances, and monitors competitive activity.

  • Utilizes negotiation skills to offer fair, competitive market-based pricing within parameters set by Delivered.

 

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree/equivalent or four (4) years of business-to-business sales experience.

  • 5-10 years of experience working in a sales role within the parcel, transportation, or logistics industry.

  • Highly motivated, self-starter and possessing the drive for success.

  • Strong customer centric attitude, business acumen and not afraid of cold calling.

  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion capabilities.

  • Ability to Influence and communicate across all roles and levels both internally and externally.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Professional presence, including excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Works autonomously on a day-to-day basis.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Word & Excel preferred.
